RSM Congratulates Talor Gooch, Winner of the 12th Annual RSM Classic

Gooch also took second place in the RSM Birdies Fore Love on-course competition

NEWS RELEASE

CHICAGO,

RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market, and title sponsor of The RSM Classic – is excited to congratulate Talor Gooch on winning the 12th annual tournament at Sea Island!

Talor, a resident of Midwest City, Oklahoma, turned pro in 2014. This is Talor’s first PGA TOUR win, and his fifth time playing in The RSM Classic. Talor won The RSM Classic by three shots, carding four straight rounds in the 60s and circling 20 birdies and two eagles along the way.

Talor also came in second in the 2021 RSM Birdies Fore Love on-course competition, making him the first RSM Classic winner to also be an RSM Birdies Fore Love winner.

“It’s been an amazing week here at Sea Island for our 12th annual RSM Classic,” said Joe Adams, managing partner and CEO with RSM US LLP. “It’s so much more than a golf tournament; The RSM Classic is an all-encompassing experience tailored to our clients and guests, and it’s one of our favorite traditions. It also serves as a platform for amplifying our focus on stewardship, raising millions each year to support our communities. I’m thrilled to congratulate Talor on his win. We’re glad to welcome him to the RSM ‘family’ as one of our tournament’s champions.”

In addition to Talor, previous winners of The RSM Classic include Robert Streb, Tyler Duncan, Charles Howell III, Austin Cook, Mackenzie Hughes, Kevin Kisner, Team RSM Member Chris Kirk, Tommy Gainey, Ben Crane and Heath Slocum.

“RSM has a rich 95-year history, and The RSM Classic has become key component of that history,” said Doug Opheim, chief financial officer with RSM US LLP and chair of the RSM US Foundation. “A couple of this week’s highlights include Wednesday’s charity putting challenge and Thursday’s announcement of the more than $4.8 million raised for children and families through RSM’s Birdies Fore Love program. This brings the grand total raised for children and families in need through the tournament since it began in 2010 to more than $28 million."

Proceeds from this year’s RSM Classic will benefit national and local charitable organizations aligned with the RSM US Foundation’s mission of building tomorrow’s middle market business leaders by supporting organizations committed to providing stable environments for youth in the areas of education, hunger, housing and health.

“This year’s RSM Classic provided an excellent opportunity for our clients and prospective clients to connect with us – and with one another in a magnificent setting,” said Andy Bosman, chief marketing officer with RSM US LLP. “It was great seeing everyone in person while watching some amazing golf and doing good for the community. We’re already looking forward to returning to Sea Island next year for the 13th annual RSM Classic!”
