RSM's Tradition of Stewardship Holds Firm for 90 Years

Employees support their local communities through RSM Volunteer Day

RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – recently held its seventh annual firm-wide Volunteer Day, during which more than 2,900 RSM employees and clients participated in 175 volunteer activities across the country to give back to their local communities.

Each year during RSM Volunteer Day, employees and clients join forces to showcase the firm's core value of stewardship. Helping more than 100 charitable organizations, employees and clients sorted and boxed food donations, read to children, sorted and inspected donated clothing, distributed food, packaged meals for children, built homes and garden beds, landscaped yards for schools, parks, shelters and nonprofits and participated in many other activities to help those in need.

“We are proud of the stewardship our employees and clients show on an ongoing basis throughout the year,” said Joe Adams, managing partner and CEO of RSM US LLP. “Our annual Volunteer Day encourages all of us to come together to focus on supporting our local communities. This year marks our firm’s 90th anniversary. One thing that’s held strong year after year throughout our firm’s history is our passion to give back. Our people want to make a difference and help better their communities, proving that stewardship is more than one of our firm’s core values – it’s a value that each of us at RSM holds dear.”

In conjunction with Volunteer Day, RSM’s Dollars for Doers program provides grants through the RSM US Foundation to match employees’ direct volunteer time serving eligible charities that reflect the foundation’s mission: Building tomorrow’s middle market leaders by supporting programs focused on education and organizations serving youth in the areas of hunger, housing and health in the communities where RSM employees live and work.

“The RSM US Foundation is thrilled to support our longstanding Volunteer Day with grants to eligible organizations,” said Doug Opheim, chief financial officer and chairman of the RSM US Foundation. “Our Dollars-for-Doers program allows us to enhance the ‘sweat equity’ our people provide through their volunteer efforts with much-needed financial support. It’s just one way our foundation supports our people while helping those in need.”

A number of the nonprofits that benefited from this year’s RSM US Volunteer Day are also clients of the firm, which provided unique opportunities to build relationships, while supporting the unique local needs of the communities where RSM operates.
