Consulting Magazine Names RSM's Theresa Merlino A Future Leader
RSM US LLP – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is pleased to announce that Theresa Kain Merlino was recently selected by Consulting magazine as a Future Leader award recipient as part of the publication's ninth annual Achievement Awards: Women Leaders in Consulting.
Merlino, a principal with RSM, specializes in performance improvement. She was recognized, along with other award winners, during a November 12 awards gala at the St. Regis Hotel in New York. Merlino was selected as an award recipient for her achievements and leadership in the consulting field.
“Theresa has a passion and ability to impact positive changes for not only our clients but also for our staff,” said Lisa Wilson, managing partner of RSM USs Northwest office. “Because she regularly provides valuable insights; both clients and employees often seek out Theresa’s opinion. She presents in a calm way and provides an optimistic outlook, which is why she is seen as a strong leader and mentor in the Pacific Northwest, across our firm and within the consulting industry.”
"Theresa regularly receives kudos from her clients and colleagues, indicating that she truly understands their needs" said West Region Consulting Leader Bob Jacobson. “She is a recognized leader in the consulting industry, and is very deserving of this recognition.”
"I’m honored that our firm leadership nominated me for this award, as I know there are many other women in our firm who are also deserving,” said Merlino. “I applaud Consulting magazine for recognizing women through these awards, because women bring a unique perspective to our clients that is critical for the consulting industry in an increasingly diverse marketplace. I hope all the award winners can inspire other women to pursue leadership opportunities in consulting.”
Theresa assists clients across the country with business process improvement (BPI) and internal control enhancement-related services. She facilitates performance improvement by helping clients integrate technology, data analytics and process design. Theresa has experience in strategic business planning, facilitating the strategy process from the initial research phases through to the development and execution of action plans.
Theresa is also a featured speaker throughout the country on BPI, using data analytics to drive performance, and integrating internal controls with efficiency and organizational effectiveness. Working out of the RSM US office in Seattle, she serves as a career advisor to multiple RSM US employees in several offices in the West Region.
