Tracey Walker is a senior director in the McLean, Virginia office of RSM US LLP, the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market. Tracey is the leader of RSM’s culture, diversity and inclusion (CDI) strategy, and is responsible for CDI’s workplace, workforce, marketplace and community objectives. This includes 12 employee network groups (ENGs), the ENG Council and the governing Inclusion Council driving inclusion policies at the executive level, across the enterprise. She designs the firm’s inclusive learning and professional development (LPD) with over 15 original courses such as Unconscious Bias, Managing Bias, Inclusive Leadership and Leadership Dexterity. She leads the firm’s supplier diversity and disadvantaged business partner programs, diverse professional organization sponsorship and the CDI Impact Fund for charitable partnerships. She drives leader training in delivering inclusive client and talent experience efforts across the $2 billion RSM enterprise.
Walker is a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) thought leader, and leads D&I advisory services for RSM clients delivering inclusion compliance, D&I implementation and infrastructure. She presents lectures for business schools and trade organizations, such as Indiana University Kelley School of Business, American Apparel and Fashion Association (AAFA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the RSM International conferences in Berlin and Beijing. She is certified in Diversity and Inclusion as an Advanced Practitioner from the Cornell University School of Industrial and labor Relations (ILR) and completed her graduate work with honors at the Harvard Business School in Organizational Behavior.
Walker was named to the 100 Most Influential Women in Diversity and Inclusion list (2020) by Diversity MBA. She was appointed founding chair of the Council for the Advancement of Women by the Association of Government Accountants (2020), was named to the Top 50 Elite Executives in Diversity and Inclusion (2018), and received the Women Leaders in Consulting award from Consulting Magazine (2017). She serves on the Inclusion Task Force for the Greater Washington Board of Trade, the board of Howard University Center for Accounting Education (CAE) and is past chair of the Urban League Board of Directors, Tracey has received numerous honors and recognitions for distinguished leadership and charitable board service throughout her career.
Summary of experience
As the firm’s former federal financial services sector leader, Walker led specialized financial advisory teams of experts to address the complex technical needs of federal agency clients in lending, compliance, financial management and reporting, risk and technology. She has 20 years of federal and state government solution and legislative affairs experience. She is the firm’s registered corporate representative before state legislatures, federal agencies and Congressional lawmaking officials. She began her career as corporate representative before the Illinois and New York State legislatures on intellectual property, franchise law and education matters.
