RSM Celebrates Women's History Month
DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
March is Women’s History Month, an annual celebration of achievements by women, and a time for us to recognize the role women have played in history.
At RSM, there are hundreds of women in strategic leadership positions, and today – International Women’s Day – we’re highlighting three of them.
Diane McNulty started her career with RSM in 1966 and, at the time, thought becoming a partner would never happen. But she worked hard, proved her abilities and realized her dream by becoming the firm’s first female partner in 1976.
When Kay Hegarty joined RSM in 1980, she knew she’d have to work hard to advance her career. She found ways to access centers of influence in the community and received support from internal mentors. In 1991, she became the first woman to be elected to the firm’s board of directors.
Although she began her career two decades after Diane, Donna Sciarappa had strong mentors who gave her encouragement and opportunities to gain experience. Donna is the first woman at the firm to serve as a regional managing partner, being named to the position in 2013. As executive sponsor for the STAR (Stewardship. Teamwork. Advancement. Retention) women’s employee network group (ENG), Donna works hard to ensure positive experiences for RSM women today and in the future.
We salute the achievements of these women, along with all of the other female partners, principals and employees at RSM during Women’s History Month. And we give a special nod to Jean Stephens, CEO of RSM International, the global network of independent audit, tax and consulting firms to which RSM US LLP belongs.
