New interns and associates raise more than $30,000 for charity
FY17 Starting Your Career at RSM (SYCAR) program attendees raised $32,600 in Dollars for Doers grants and donated 618 packages by participating in volunteer events during the programs this year.
Our newest associates began living our value of Stewardship early in their careers. During an evening charity event, new interns and associates learned a bit about the work of the RSM US Foundation and then participated in activities benefiting local charities.
"Stewardship is a big part of our firm's culture," said Sara Webber Laczo, principal. "So it's only fitting that we give our newest employees an opportunity to give back at their first event with the firm."
Three of the programs had participants complete a "Kid Lit" activity putting together story kits for families staying at Ronald McDonald Houses while a child is in the hospital. To make the evening even more interesting, employees had to complete teamwork challenges, in order to get the supplies for each kit.
The other two programs, including a combined Tax and Audit SYCAR event, put together boxed lunches for the Greater Chicago Food Depository to be distributed to Chicago-area kids in need.
