Light week for economic data
WEEKLY MARKET COMMENTARY |
The holiday-shortened week in the U.S. will yield a relatively light four days of economic releases, thus the recent trend of asset markets following the direction of the U.S. dollar and oil will likely remain in place. Outside of commodity and currency markets, investors will get fresh information on the U.S. housing sector, inflation, regional manufacturing conditions and jobless claims. Outside the U.S., investors will get policy rate decisions from the European Central Bank and the Bank of Canada, as well as reports on Canadian retail sales, U.K. inflation and the euro-area manufacturing.
