Global issues continue to overshadow U.S. economic data

With tensions over the ongoing Greek crisis continuing to simmer and concerns mounting about the China’s ability to stabilize equity markets, investors focus is on the global fallout from a slowing international economy. Global economic issues continue to overshadow U.S. economic data. Meanwhile, U.S. asset markets are, at least temporarily, moving in synch with oil and commodity prices.
In the U.S. this week there is a heavy slate of first-tier data that will be published. Foremost among these economic releases will be the July estimate of total employment growth. Also on tap is fresh data on household income and spending, manufacturing, total vehicle sales and first time jobless claims.
