Fresh information on the U.S. labor market expected
WEEKLY MARKET COMMENTARY |
This week investors will be focusing on fresh information on the U.S. labor market, which may determine the start date for the Federal Reserve's looming rate-hike campaign. Also on the agenda is whether Greece will run out of cash in April, setting in motion its exit from the eurozone.
There is a heavy slate of economic data on tap for this week, which includes housing, income, spending, auto sales, manufacturing, construction and trade reports. In China, new estimates of manufacturing conditions will be released and are expected to show contraction in industrial production. Meanwhile, eight Federal Reserve members will speak this week, among them Fed Chair Janet Yellen, who will provide opening remarks before the central bank's conference on mobility.
