Flat sales for auto sector, while manufacturing shows modest rebound

The week ahead in financial markets and policy will see a wave of first-tier economic releases featuring the March estimate of U.S. non-farm payrolls on Friday, April 7. The Federal Reserve (Fed) will send five speakers to address the public with the most prominent being New York Fed President William Dudley who will speak twice during the week. The Fed will also publish the minutes to the last Finance Open Market Committee meeting on Wednesday, April 5.
The week will conclude with a visit at President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate by Chinese Premier Xi Jinping. Beyond the Trump-Xi meeting, the major global financial event that will likely move markets will be the European Central Bank meeting on Thursday, April 6.
