All eyes on Fed as policy decision looms

Global focus will return to the U.S. economy this week even as investors await the results of the Sept. 17 Federal Reserve meeting that may mark the beginning of the central bank’s long-awaited rate hike campaign.
After that crucial policy decision, there will be a series of first-tier economic data releases, including retail sales, housing starts and permits, regional manufacturing, industrial production, consumer sentiment and inflation. In addition, the U.S. Treasury will float $13 billion in 10-Year Treasury Inflation Protected Securities on Friday.
