Definition of accredited investor: Up in the air

Only a year after lifting the ban on general solicitation, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) proposed new parameters for accredited investors. This proposal could reduce the private capital market’s access to investors, thereby negatively impacting the U.S. investment industry and the middle market as a whole.
