FINANCIAL REPORTING INSIGHTS |
Sara Lord, a partner in McGladrey’s National Professional Standards Group, recently was selected as the firm’s National Director of Assurance Services. Sara replaces John Keyser, who has accepted a teaching position at Case Western Reserve University, where he will pursue his long-time aspiration of becoming a college professor. The firm anticipates the transition to take place August 1, 2015.
Jim Morton, McGladrey’s National Assurance Leader, is pleased that Sara has been selected to fill the key role of National Director of Assurance Services, “Sara is deeply grounded in professional standards, and consistently thinks about how new standards and firm policies impact our auditors in the field. She takes the time to listen to engagement teams as they sort through challenging audit issues and then thoughtfully develops responsive guidance, practice aids and/or training as appropriate. Sara has made significant innovative contributions to the improvement in audit quality within our firm.”
Sara joined McGladrey’s National Professional Standards Group as a partner in 2012. She primarily has focused on the firm’s more complex commercial audit engagements, being responsible for the firm’s audit methodology (including policies, guidance, tools and training) for audits performed under the standards of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. Sara has 17 years of experience with public company and private company auditing and accounting technical issues. The majority of her career has been with Deloitte & Touche where she worked in assurance services, participating in the national office management development program and focusing in the global regulatory and public policy area. Sara recently served as a member of the Private Company Practice Section Technical Issues Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has been involved in various Center for Audit Quality committees.
