Non-GAAP financial measures: Continuing the conversation
FINANCIAL REPORTING INSIGHTS |
The Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) recently released a paper, Non-GAAP Financial Measures: Continuing the Conversation, which provides the following:
- Summarized background information about non-GAAP financial information, including its definition, use and related disclosure requirements
- Information regarding regulatory oversight activities related to, and current auditor involvement with, non-GAAP financial measures
- Suggested questions to foster dialogue among stakeholders (management, audit committees, auditors, etc.) regarding non-GAAP financial measures
This paper builds on the CAQ’s June 2016 publication, Questions on Non-GAAP Measures: A Tool for Audit Committees, which was designed to help audit committees assess whether management’s presentation of non-GAAP measures is transparent, consistent and comparable.
