"We are thrilled to have Mackenzie join the RSM ‘family’ as winner of the seventh annual RSM Classic,” said Joe Adams, managing partner and CEO of RSM US LLP. “Mackenzie’s win comes at a particularly exciting time as we celebrate our firm’s 90th anniversary of providing audit, tax and consulting services to middle market business leaders across the country and around the world. Congratulations to Mackenzie on joining Kevin Kisner, Robert Streb, Chris Kirk, Tommy Gainey, Ben Crane and Heath Slocum as a winners of The RSM Classic. Welcome to the team, Mackenzie.

"RSM and the game of golf share the core values of respect, integrity, teamwork, excellence and stewardship. Each year, The RSM Classic provides a platform for our firm to give back to the communities where our employees live and work through Birdies Fore Love and Youth Day," said Doug Opheim, chief financial officer for RSM US LLP and chairman of the RSM US Foundation. "Through this year's Birdies Fore Love program, thousands of RSM partners, employees, clients and friends donated to charitable organizations in 86 cities nationwide. With a match from the RSM US Foundation, we were able to give $1.5 million to deserving organizations this year – bringing the grand total raised through the tournament to nearly $7 million to date.”

An addition this year was a $10,000 check presentation from RSM to Folds of Honor. “We are honored to have Folds of Honor as part of this year’s RSM Classic,” said Bill Gorman, chief operating officer for RSM US LLP. “As the child of a military family, I have a unique appreciation for the sacrifces made not only by those who serve but also by their families. I am pleased that we have been able to raise funds to support the families of those who have been injured or lost their lives in service to our country.”

The 2016 RSM Classic included a concert by country music singing sensation Cole Swindell, which attracted thousands of fans, and a golf clinic for children, hosted by Southeast Georgia Health System. Other highlights included Youth Day; and a putting contest with RSM leaders, PGA TOUR professionals (including Chesson Hadley, Patton Kizzire, Scott Langley and others), and participants from Special Olympics and Boys and Girls Clubs of Southeast Georgia. Proceeds from this year's RSM Classic will benefit Special Olympics, the Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Georgia and other national and local charitable organizations aligned with the RSM US Foundation’s focus on building tomorrow’s middle market leaders by supporting organizations committed to providing a more stable environment for youth in the areas of education, hunger, housing and health.

"On behalf of the partners and employees of RSM, I would like to thank the 1,200 volunteers who made this year’s tournament a success,” said Bill Gorman, chief operating officer for RSM US LLP. “Each year, residents of the Golden Isles and surrounding communities come together to support The RSM Classic. The tournament’s success, and our ability to give back to the community in such a big way through the event, wouldn’t be possible without these volunteers. We look forward to seeing them each year, and we can’t wait for 2017.”

The 2017 RSM Classic is scheduled for Nov. 13 for Nov. 19, 2017.
