AICPA Recognizes RSM's Michael Westendorf with Elijah Watt Sells Award
RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is pleased to announce that Michael Westendorf was recently named by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) as a winner of its 2015 Elijah Watt Sells Award.
Westendorf, a graduate of the University of Dayton, is a tax associate in the firm’s Dayton, OH office. According to the AICPA, the award is bestowed upon candidates who have obtained a cumulative average score above 95.50 across all four sections of the Uniform CPA Examination, passed all four sections of the exam on their first attempt and completed testing in 2015. A total of 93,742 individuals sat for the exam in 2015, with only 75 of them meeting the criteria to receive the Elijah Watt Sells Award.
"This is a special award," says RSM Great Lakes regional managing partner, Donna Sciarappa. "When I hear great success stories like Michael's, I know the future of RSM is very bright, and that with employees the caliber of Michael, we will continue to be able to help our middle market clients succeed."
The Elijah Watt Sells Award program was established by the AICPA in 1923 to recognize outstanding performance on the CPA Examination. Sells, one of the first CPAs in the U.S., was active in the establishment of the AICPA and played a key role advancing professional education within the profession.
The complete list of 2015 Elijah Watt Sells Award winners can be found on AICPA new release.
