McGladrey Extends Sponsorship of The McGladrey Classic Through 2020

NEWS RELEASE

SEA ISLAND, Ga.,

McGladrey LLP, the leading U.S. provider of assurance, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market, which has sponsored The McGladrey Classic since its inception in 2010, has extended its sponsor commitment by five years, through 2020.

The announcement was made today by PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem, McGladrey CEO Joe Adams and Davis Love III, whose foundation serves as the tournament host organization, during a press conference at Sea Island Golf Club, where The McGladrey Classic begins Thursday on the Seaside Course. McGladrey's current three-year sponsorship agreement expires at the conclusion of the 2015 tournament.

"Through the efforts of Davis Love, his foundation and the commitment by McGladrey, The McGladrey Classic has quickly established itself as an outstanding tournament on the PGA TOUR," Finchem said. "Between the beautiful resort setting and unique atmosphere at Sea Island, The McGladrey Classic has become very popular among the players. We couldn't be more pleased with the way the tournament has grown in such a short period of time and the impact it has had on the surrounding area through its economic and charitable support. We are excited to announce McGladrey's renewal and look forward to working together on the continued success of the tournament."

"From its inception in 2010, the purpose of The McGladrey Classic for McGladrey has been threefold: drive brand recognition, build upon our relationships with clients and potential clients and, most importantly, give back to the community," said McGladrey Managing Partner and CEO Joe Adams. "The tournament has done all that – and more. Our business philosophy is based on the belief that the real power of any relationship comes through understanding, which leads to partnerships based on integrity and trust. Our belief is that, whether in the world of business or in the world of golf, a trusted advisor who 'understands your game' can help you make the right decisions to succeed."

Over its first four years, The McGladrey Classic has raised nearly $2 million for children and families in need, with a significant portion of those funds directly benefiting Special Olympics (national, state and local) and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Georgia. Additionally, the tournament has an annual economic impact of $10.6 million on Georgia's Golden Isles, according to a 2013 analysis by the Bureau of Business Research and Economic Development at Georgia Southern University.

"The McGladrey Classic has been an incredible success and has far exceeded everyone's expectations since its inception four years ago," said Davis Love III, twenty-time PGA TOUR winner. "We're very fortunate to have a dynamic partnership with McGladrey that has enabled our event to flourish. We couldn't be more delighted that McGladrey has extended its title sponsorship through 2020. This will have a far-reaching, positive impact on both children and family charities across the country and Georgia's Golden Isles."

The McGladrey Classic has featured a strong field with Love and other PGA TOUR members who have strong ties to Georgia's Golden Isles including defending champion Chris Kirk, Matt Kuchar, Lucas Glover, Jonathan Byrd and Zach Johnson, as well as other top players. Prior to Kirk, The McGladrey Classic champions were Tommy Gainey (2012), Ben Crane (2011) and Heath Slocum (2010).

Sea Island's highly acclaimed Seaside Course, which opened in 1929, was originally designed by noted architects Harry S. Colt and Charles Alison, and in 1999 was renovated by Tom Fazio. It measures 7,055 yards and plays to par 70.

About the Davis Love Foundation
Established in 2005 by professional golfer Davis Love, III and his wife Robin, the Davis Love Foundation contributes to the well-being and progress of society by supporting both national and community-based programs that focus on children and their families. Headquartered in St. Simons Island, GA, the private Foundation provides a positive and far-reaching vehicle for creative solutions to social ills that affect children and their families. The ambitious mission of the Davis Love Foundation is to help build a better future for  children and their families who are at risk of poor educational, economic, social and health outcomes.

In 2012, the Davis Love Foundation launched an additional fundraising element in conjunction with The McGladrey Classic called Birdies Fore Love. Birdies Fore Love gives non-profit organizations an opportunity to raise funds for their charity through a no-cost program with 100% of funds raised going back to their organization.
