The remaining phases of the contest are underway between now and Sept. 14 at www.CaddieForLove.com; voting ends Aug. 26 and final judging and selection begins Aug. 27 and ends Sept. 14. The 20 semifinalists have each uploaded a short video illustrating why he should be chosen by Davis and the fans to “Caddie for Love,” and they are poised for Davis to choose a winner on Sept. 15.

The McGladrey judging criteria included knowledge of U.S. Ryder Cup captain Davis Love III and the game of golf, essay originality, photo originality and a tie-in to The Power of Being Understood. Fan voting was also taken into consideration when selecting finalists.

“The golfer/caddie relationship is an important one, similar to the relationship McGladrey has with its clients. These 20 semifinalists have displayed this level of understanding thus far,” said Davis Love III, a member of Team McGladrey and the tournament host of The McGladrey Classic. “I understand what it means to assemble a great team on the course, and I’ll really be watching the semifinalists’ videos to determine our grand prize winner. In this contest, I’m looking for someone who, like the folks at McGladrey, understands my needs, my game and my love and passion for the game of golf.”

Davis ranks sixth in career earnings and is one of the most highly respected golfers currently on the PGA TOUR. Over his 25-year professional career, he has captured 171 Top 10 finishes and racked up 20 career PGA TOUR victories. In 1997 he won the PGA Championship, and in 2012 Davis will lead Team U.S.A. as Ryder Cup captain.

“The Caddie for Love contest is off to a great start and has done a wonderful job of further expanding our ‘Experience the Power of Being Understood’ campaign and our support of the PGA TOUR, the game of golf and especially the charities that benefit, such as Special Olympics and Boys and Girls Clubs,” said RSM McGladrey Chief Marketing Officer, Mark Audino. “I’m excited to see what our semifinalists do to secure the fans’ — and more importantly — Davis Love’s votes. It’s clear we have created a unique, online, socially driven contest that will allow us to share our love for the game of golf and our ‘Power of Being Understood’ messaging with fans in an interactive manner.”
