McGladrey Announces New National Industry Leaders
WASHINGTON, DC — RSM McGladrey Inc. and McGladrey & Pullen LLP, leading providers of assurance, tax and consulting services under the McGladrey brand, announced the appointment of new industry leaders for its National Manufacturing, Financial Services, Government and Education, and Food and Beverage industries. These appointments reinforce McGladrey’s commitment to providing clients with world-class expertise built on excellent service, genuine understanding and trust.

The new leadership includes:
Jim Greisch, a partner/managing director in Omaha, will lead the firm’s national Financial Services industry. Greisch has 30+ years of experience in public accounting, and most currently serves as national director of the firm’s insurance practice. He also leads the Omaha audit practice and is managing partner in that office. Greisch holds a B.S.B.A. in accounting and finance from Creighton University.
Pat Hagan, a partner/managing director in Chicago, will lead the firm’s national Government and Education industry. Hagan joined the firm in July 2010, bringing nearly 30 years of experience providing external audit as well as operations, and risk and technology consulting services to states, cities, counties, education entities and not-for-profit agencies. He serves on the Boards of the Civic Federation and the Chicago Sister Cities International Program’s Galway Committee. Hagan graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.B.A. in accountancy.
Karen Kurek, a partner/managing director in Chicago, will lead the firm’s national Manufacturing industry. Kurek has nearly 30 years of experience consulting with mid-sized manufacturers in the areas of financial assurance services, capital procurement, acquisition/divestiture strategy formation, tax planning, and cross border expansion opportunities. Kurek is an assurance partner, who most recently led the firm’s Great Lakes manufacturing and wholesale distribution practices. She serves on the board of directors of the Illinois Manufacturer’s Association. Kurek holds a B.S. in accounting from the University of Illinois, and has completed the Business Advisor Program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Cristin Singer, a partner/managing director in New York, will lead the firm’s national Food and Beverage industry. Singer has experience managing domestic and global engagements for both public and private organizations, and her food and beverage experience covers a cross-section of the industry including manufacturers, distributors and retailers. Singer has been an integral member of the firm’s national Food Industry Steering Committee, served as co-leader of the Food and Beverage industry in the Northeast, and works closely with private equity groups that actively invest in food and beverage-related companies. Singer graduated from Binghamton University with a B.S. in accounting, and she has completed the business advisor program at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
McGladrey is looking externally for someone to lead its fifth national priority industry – Healthcare.
In addition to the new industry leaders, McGladrey has also hired Gemma (Gem) Baltazar. She joins RSM McGladrey as director – Industry Learning and Professional Development on November 15, bringing more than 20 years of talent management and training experience. Baltazar holds a Masters of Education in adult and corporate instructional management from Chicago’s Loyola University and a B.A. in psychology from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. She authored Teaching the Tax Professional (Methods, Topics and Issues in Tax Education: A Year 2001 Perspective; American Taxation Association). Baltazar will be based in the firm’s Chicago office.
